Intern, Communications

Grants Management Professional

The Grants Management Professional has primary responsibility for the administrative coordination of grants assigned to the incumbent. Administrative coordination includes establishing and overseeing proposal development timelines, assisting with budget development, and ensuring reporting requirements are met. Currently, this position is responsible for coordinating the administration of the PEPFAR cooperative agreement, and assisting with other agreements.

Manager HIV, Hepatitis, STD and TB Programs

The APHL Manager of HIV, Hepatitis, STD and TB Programs is responsible for the management of all HIV, Hepatitis, STD and TB work at the Association in coordination with other Infectious Disease activities undertaken by the department. The staff member works closely with various Centers and Offices within CDC, most notably NCHHSTP, and with public health professionals at various partner organizations that have complementary activities in testing, policy, and training around HIV, Hepatitis, TB, and STDs. The Manager works on behalf of and in collaboration with APHL members, staff and partner organizations, building relationships that enhance the connections between APHL member laboratories and their public health partners. The Manager provides support to the Association’s Infectious Diseases Committee and independently staffs several related subcommittees. The Manager of HIV, Hepatitis, STD and TB Programs supervises the Infectious Disease Specialist for TB Programs. The Manager reports to the Director of Infectious Disease Programs under the overall leadership of the Senior Director of Public Health Programs. The staff person will be located in the APHL Silver Spring office.

Senior Technician, ID and FS Programs

The Senior Technician provides a full range of support to the Infectious Diseases and Food Safety programs within the Association and to other areas as needed. The Senior Technician works on behalf of and in collaboration with APHL members, staff, and partner organizations to create and disseminate information, organize successful meetings and teleconferences, arrange travel, facilitate reimbursements, perform simple research and data analysis tasks, and facilitate contracting processes. This position reports to the Director of Food Safety Programs in coordination with the Director of Infectious Diseases Programs, under the overall supervision of the Senior Director for Public Health Programs.
