Corporate Relations Sr. Specialist/Manager

The Corporate Relations Sr Specialist/Manager position is located in the APHL Membership and Marketing Department. This position’s duties include marketing and management of the Sustaining Membership Program, promotion of exhibits and sponsorships, solicitation of in-kind donations and cultivation of new revenue-generating opportunities. The Sr Specialist/Manager identifies appropriate corporate partnerships and support opportunities through prospect research. The Sr. Specialist/Manager develops fundraising materials, cultivates relationships with senior corporate executives and coordinates meetings and programs for corporate members and prospects. This position is responsible for the promotion, content, agenda and evaluation of the annual Corporate Leadership Council Meeting. The Sr Specialist/Manager assists all APHL staff and members with identification and solicitation of appropriate companies and corporate foundations for support of specific program or department projects. This position also assists in providing contacts and developing relationships with companies whose new technology would benefit the PHL community. This position reports directly to the Director of Membership and Marketing, and works closely with the Executive Director, board of directors, Chief Operating Officer, PH Program Staff and other volunteer leadership of the association.

HHST Professional

The APHL Professional – HIV, Hepatitis, STD and TB (HHST) Programs is responsible for the organization of all HHST activities at the Association in coordination with other Infectious Disease activities undertaken by the department, working on behalf of and in collaboration with APHL members, staff and partner organizations. The staff member works in close collaboration with various Centers and Offices within CDC most notably NCHHSTP, and with public health professionals at various partner organizations that have complementary activities in testing, policy, and training around HIV, Hepatitis, TB, and STDs. The staff member provides support to the Association’s Infectious Diseases Committee, independently staffs several HHST subcommittees and works closely with the TB Specialist. The HHST Professional reports to the Director of Infectious Disease Programs under the overall supervision of the Senior Director of Public Health Programs. The staff person will be located in the APHL Silver Spring office. This position has the ability to be filled at either the Sr. Specialist or Manager level.

Specialist, NewSTEPs

The Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and disorder specific subject matter expertise support to the Newborn Screening and Genetics Program at APHL, with a specific focus on Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID). This includes facilitating the development and management of contracts and sub-awards, coordinating logistics for meetings and trainings, contacting newborn screening programs to assess levels of SCID screening readiness, processing expense reports, understanding the national scope of SCID newborn screening, developing relationships with various stakeholders and facilitating mentorship activities. The Specialist must display excellent customer and member service skills, will have frequent communication with members and other programs at APHL. This position reports to Manager, NewSTEPs. This position is funded for two years.
