Senior Specialist, Public Policy

The Senior Specialist, Public Policy reports to the Senior Director of Public Policy and provides assistance in the management of the association's federal government relations activities including relationship building and outreach with federal government policy makers and national public health and health advocacy organizations, with limited direct lobbying activities.

Associate Specialist, PulseNet

The APHL PulseNet Associate Specialist will provide support for foodborne illness surveillance activities undertaken by APHL member laboratories, including those associated with the PulseNet network. The PulseNet Program Coordinator works on behalf of and in collaboration with APHL members, staff and partner organizations.  Under the supervision of the Program Director, the staff person works in close collaboration with CDC’s Division of Foodborne, Bacterial and Mycotic Diseases and federal, state and local PulseNet participating laboratories, as well as with food safety professionals at FDA, USDA, and other food safety organizations.

This temporary position will work very closely with APHL’s PulseNet Program Manager to coordinate completion of PulseNet activities. This position will report to the PulseNet Program Manager and the Director of Infectious Disease and Food Safety Programs, under the overall supervision of the Senior Director of Public Health Programs
