From April 2004 to June 2005, APHL’s Food Safety Program worked in cooperation with the CDC to administer two rounds of grants to state public health laboratories for improvements to food safety testing programs.

Approximately $320,000 in grant funds was awarded during the two rounds. APHL has summarized the project activities of grantees and compiled lessons learned in its report, Enhancing Food Safety Capacity in State Public Health Laboratories.
