APHL's Global Health Program seeks experienced laboratory professional for technical assistance activities to improve malaria diagnosis in developing country field programs. Comprehensive knowledge with microscopy and rapid diagnostic test methods required. Both long and short -term consultancy contracts available.

Global Health Program Managers
APHL's Global Health Program seeks managers at senior and entry levels. Position responsibilities include planning, implementing and managing APHL's international laboratory project activities. Work is done at the APHL headquarters office in Silver Spring, Maryland and travel requirements vary from 0-40% according to the specific job duties. Depending on project activities, full-time and part-time positions may be available. APHL project information can be found here
Project requirements change with short notice or new technical assistance is requested throughout the year, we encourage persons to submit a brief resume of major experience and education along with a statement of interest.
GHP is especially interested in persons with these skills, abilities, experiences and knowledge:
1) Laboratory testing for:
• CD4
• Hematology
• biochemistry and related quality assurance
• tuberculosis including drug sensitivity testing
• HIV serology and viral assays
2) Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish and French
3) Training methodology and development of training tools, products and presentations
4) Management of public health laboratory services
5) Knowledge of and experience in quality management systems
Global Health Program Coordinators
APHL's Global Health Program seeks Program Coordinators to provide administrative and logistical support to the Global Health Program. Responsibilities include:
• Clerical and general office administrative duties
• Database entry
• Management of documents and pages in MS SharePoint
• Webpage management
• Meeting and travel logistics (planning and arranging)
• Preparation of Microsoft documents in Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Schedule management
• Communications management

Short, Medium and Long-Term Consultancies
APHL's Global Health Program seeks scientific and management consultants for 2 week to 12 month technical assistance consultancies and mentoring assignments to be performed in countries in Africa, Southeast and South Asia, Caribbean and China.
GHP is especially interested in hearing from medical technologists who are fluent in Portuguese or Spanish.
