The APHL/CDC STD Steering Committee was created in 2006 to improve communication between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health laboratories. The Committee's current priority is development of new STD testing guidelines to accompany the 2006 CDC STD treatment guidelines. Committee members include APHL staff and members, CDC partners and representatives from the National Coalition of STD Directors and the National Chlamydia Laboratory Committee.
