Sharing Knowledge, Improving LIMS

A Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is a software program that manages laboratory samples, users, instruments, standards and other functions. Public health laboratories use LIMS to track and manage specimens, laboratory test orders and results as well as to identify indicators of disease outbreaks. A complete LIMS also incorporates other business processes such as billing, test quality control and inventory control.
