Laboratory training available at your convenience — anytime, anywhere.

The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) and the National Laboratory Training Network (NLTN) offer several on-demand options for laboratory continuing education, including Interactive Online Courses, Laboratory Workshops To Go, CDs/DVDs, Previously Recorded Teleconferences, Podcasts and more.

Our convenient, affordable training options can assist you in maintaining your competency in laboratory practice and help you stay informed about new technological developments. With our On Demand options, you can work at your own pace, and there is no need to leave your workplace to learn!  Many of the formats provide Continuing Education (CE) credit.

Interactive Online Courses

We offer several highly interactive courses that can be completed entirely over the internet. The courses are presented in short modules of about an hour each, and are authored by experts in each topic area. Topics include:

    Laboratory Workshops To Go

    Our Laboratory Workshops To Go provide all the materials needed to present a fully accredited workshop - content, post-test, evaluation, and CE certificate - at your facility. You can use the materials for a small group or for individual study - whichever is more convenient. Topics include:

    If you need materials for inservice training, consider our CD and DVD titles, including many topics relevant to clinical and public health laboratory practice. Several provide CE credit!

    NLTN and APHL offer recordings of recent teleconferences on a wide variety of topics. Some are available at no charge.  Examples of currently available selections include the following:

    These previously recorded teleconferences and web conferences are primarily targeted to public health laboratory scientists but clinical laboratory scientists may find them of interest. Please note there is no CE offered for these free programs.

    These previously recorded teleconferences result from a collaboration between CLSI and APHL to increase awareness in the laboratory community of new standards of laboratory practice and to answer questions about their implementation.  All recorded progrmas provide P.A.C.E.® CE credit through APHL and are available for a minimal charge.
