APHL Membership Categories and Dues Information

Public Health Institutional-State

US state and territorial public health laboratories. These laboratories are represented by the director, who may then appoint four employees as member-associates. The director may also appoint additional member-associates for $125 each.

Public Health Institutional-Local

US county or city public health laboratories. These local public health laboratories are represented by the director, who may then appoint three employees as member-associates. The director may also appoint additional member-associates for $125 each.

New members receive a 50% discount on the above rates.

Public Health Associate Institutional

US state governmental laboratories, such as environmental or agricultural facilities, which are not eligible to be a Public Health Institutional-State member.  These member laboratories are represented by the director, who may then appoint three employees as member-associates. The director may also appoint additional member-associates for $125 each.

Individual

Individual members are persons who have an interest in public health or environmental health and are not otherwise eligible for membership.

Dues for Individual are $100.00

Student/Fellowship

Student members are individuals currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to public health laboratory science (e.g. microbiology, chemistry, public health, environmental health, etc.). Please fax a copy of a valid student ID to APHL's membership department when you apply. 

Dues for Students are $35

Sustaining

Sustaining Members are industry or corporate entities that have an interest in public health or environmental laboratories. Click here for more information on sustaining membership.
