APHL Awards Honor the Unsung Heroes of Public Health
The Awards Program highlights outstanding achievements in laboratory science, creative approaches to today's public health challenges and exemplary support of laboratories serving the public's health. APHL award honorees are usually recognized at an awards ceremony held in conjunction with APHL's Annual Conference. Winners of the George Cunningham Visionary Award in Newborn Screening and the Harry Hannon Laboratory Improvement Award are honored at the Newborn Screening and Genetic Testing Symposium.
We are happy to announce that the 2026 APHL Awards nomination period is now open! These awards honor members, non-members and government officials for a wide range of accomplishments. Please join us in recognizing outstanding professionals who have made significant contributions to advancing public health laboratory science, practice and policy by submitting nominations for one or more of APHL's award categories listed on the left side of the page. Inquiries about APHL Awards can be directed to membership@aphl.org.
