​​The collection of data and analyses from public health laboratories is used to inform specific research questions focused on capacity, capability, training needs and workforce characterization, and to inform public policy and strategic direction. ​​​

At APHL, research is a systematic inquiry that includes the collection of data, documentation of information, and analysis of the data and information according to an appropriate statistical method. 

We research to evaluate the validity of a hypothesis, assemble knowledge and findings to share them in a suitable manner and help generate questions and find answers to shape future decision makings. ​
