APHL seeks to select up to 13 public health laboratories for the purpose of facilitating validation verification studies and/or modification of test algorithms for Interferon Gamma Release Assays (IGRA) to aid in diagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.
APHL is looking for eligible laboratories, including all state or local member public health laboratories are eligible to apply. Laboratories should consult with their jurisdictional TB control program and indicate the joint planning as part of the application. Potential scenarios include:
Option 1: Public health laboratory in a given jurisdiction currently does not perform IGRA but with programmatic input would like to implement in-house testing capability.
Option 2: Public health laboratory performs IGRA but would like to perform verification studies for a replacement test to be offered in-house.
Option 3: Public health laboratory in a given jurisdiction would like to modify the current testing algorithm with programmatic input.
