Public Health Institutional—State Application
Public Health Institutional—Local
This category is for local public health laboratories operated by counties, parishes, municipalities, cities, townships, boroughs or other local jurisdictions within the US, including US-associated Pacific Islands. These institutions support community-level public health and gain access to APHL’s resources and professional network.
Public Health Associate Institutional (PHAI)
This category includes environmental, agricultural and state chemical laboratories, as well as other laboratories affiliated with states, territories, commonwealths and the District of Columbia, including US-associated Pacific Islands. These laboratories, while not traditional public health institutions, share an interest in public health issues and are eligible to join APHL to engage in training, technical assistance and collaborative initiatives.
Individual
This membership category is open to persons who have an interest in public health or environmental health but are not otherwise eligible for institutional membership. Individual members can engage with APHL’s professional community, access select resources and stay informed on public health laboratory developments.
Student
To be eligible for the student category, individuals must be currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs related to public health laboratory science—such as microbiology, chemistry, public health or environmental health. Student members gain exposure to the field, access educational resources and connect with professionals to support their academic and career development.
Sustaining Membership is designed for industry and corporate entities that have an interest in public health or environmental laboratories and wish to actively support and engage with the work of APHL.
